Okay, so today I was trying to figure out something about the NBA standings, specifically about the Suns and the Pelicans. I was like, “Wait, who actually has the tiebreaker between these two?” It wasn’t immediately clear, so I dove in.

Figuring Out the Tiebreaker
First, I checked the NBA’s official website. You know, thinking it would be straightforward. Nope. I scrolled through the standings, and it just showed their records. No clear indication of a tiebreaker.
So, I started digging. I remembered there are these tiebreaker rules, and it’s not always just about the overall record. Head-to-head games matter a lot. I went to look at the past games these two teams played against each other this season.
- I found some game summaries.I reviewed each.
- Then I get the regular season record about Sun and Pelicans.
I carefully write down the win and lose, and calucate them
The Result
I do the math and now it is *, if these teams end up with the same record at the end of the season, the Suns will be the winner.
It was a bit of a hunt, but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes! Now I know, and hopefully, this helps someone else out there who’s also scratching their head about it.
