I stumbled upon this Tiger Woods exercise thing online, and I thought, hey, why not give it a shot? I mean, the guy’s a legend, right? So, I decided to document my little adventure here. No fancy stuff, just my raw experience.
Getting Started
First off, I had to figure out what this “Tiger Woods exercise” even was. Turns out, it’s all about that intense workout routine. The video I found mentioned something about Tiger lifting weights at 80% of his 1 rep maximum. Sounds hardcore, but also not too crazy that you might get an injury.
My First Attempt
Alright, time to hit the gym. I started by figuring out my 1 rep max for a few basic exercises like bench press, squats, and deadlifts. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. I haven’t really pushed myself like that in a while. Once I had those numbers, I calculated 80% and that became my target weight.
The Routine
- Day 1: I focused on chest and back. Started with the bench press. Did 3 sets of 8 reps at my calculated 80%. It was tough, but manageable. Then moved on to rows, same deal. Felt pretty good, not gonna lie.
- Day 2: Legs day. Squats were up first. Again, 3 sets of 8 reps. My legs were shaking by the end. Followed that up with some deadlifts. Man, that was a killer. But I pushed through.
- Day 3: Shoulders and arms. Overhead press and bicep curls were the main focus. By this point, I was feeling it. The burn was real. But I kept reminding myself, “Tiger does it, so can I!”
Keeping It Going
I managed to stick to this routine for a few weeks. Some days were harder than others. There were times when I really didn’t feel like going to the gym, but I forced myself. I started to see some progress, which was motivating. My muscles felt stronger, and I could see a bit more definition. And I followed that Golf Digest YouTube channel, saw a lot of golf videos.
The Verdict
So, after a couple of months of trying to be like Tiger, what’s the verdict? Well, it’s definitely a solid workout. I can see why he’s in such great shape. It’s tough, but it’s also rewarding. I’m not saying I’m gonna be the next golf pro, but I definitely feel better and stronger. Would I recommend it? Sure, if you’re looking for a challenge and want to push yourself, give it a go. Just remember to listen to your body and don’t overdo it.
That’s it for my Tiger Woods exercise experiment. It was a fun ride, and I’m glad I tried it. Who knows, maybe I’ll try another athlete’s routine next. Any suggestions?
