Well, let me tell ya ’bout them UD Las Palmas games, alright? Don’t expect no fancy talk from me, I’m just gonna tell it like it is, the way I see it.
UD Las Palmas, yeah, that’s the team we’re talkin’ about. They play that soccer, you know, the one with the ball and the kickin’. I don’t know all them fancy rules, but I know when they win, and that’s what matters, right? They gotta get that ball in the other fella’s net, more times than the other fellas get it in theirs. Simple as that.
So, these fellas at UD Las Palmas, they run around a lot. Sometimes they good, sometimes, well, not so good. You know how it is, like when you try to bake a cake and it comes out all flat? Happens to the best of us, even them soccer players. But them boys, they try their best, I reckon.
- They got games, lots of ’em. They call ’em “fixtures,” I think. Sounds fancy, but it just means when they play.
- And they got scores, like “two to nothin’,” or “one to one.” That tells ya who’s winnin’, or if they’re tied up like a knot you can’t undo.
- And then there’s this “livescore” thing. That’s for folks who can’t be at the game, I guess. They get to know what’s happenin’ right then and there. Like watchin’ from afar, but without the smell of the grass and the yellin’ of the crowd.
I heard tell they got a place, an “address” they call it. Avenida somethin’ somethin’, in Las Palmas. That’s where they hang their hats, I suppose. And they got a phone number too, and an e-mail. For folks who wanna chat with ’em, I guess. I ain’t got no use for that, I just watch the games on the telly when I can.
They play in somethin’ called “La Liga.” Sounds important. And they play against all sorts of other teams. Atletico Madrid, I heard of them. And CD Leganes, too. Big names, I reckon. But UD Las Palmas, they ain’t afraid. They go out there and kick that ball, tryin’ their darnedest to win.
Now, they got this “squad,” they call it. That’s just the fellas who play on the team. Young fellas, mostly. Runnin’ around like chickens with their heads cut off, sometimes. But they got heart, I’ll give ’em that. They want to win, just like the rest of us want a good harvest.
And there’s all these “statistics” and “standings.” Numbers and such. I don’t pay much mind to that. Too much for my old brain to handle. I just watch the game, see who’s kickin’ the ball better, and who’s gettin’ tired faster. That’s all the statistics I need.
You can find all this stuff on the internet, they tell me. “ESPN,” they say. And “Flashscore.” Websites and such. I wouldn’t know how to find ’em myself, but my grandson, he’s good with that stuff. He shows me the scores sometimes, and the highlights. That’s when they show the best parts of the game, the goals and the saves. It’s like gettin’ the good parts of the cake without havin’ to eat the whole thing.
So, UD Las Palmas games, they’re somethin’ to watch, I guess. Sometimes they make ya happy, sometimes they make ya wanna throw somethin’ at the telly. But that’s life, ain’t it? Ups and downs, wins and losses. Just like growin’ a garden, sometimes the tomatoes are big and juicy, sometimes they’re small and green. But you keep on tryin’, just like them fellas on the soccer field.
And that’s all I gotta say about UD Las Palmas games. They play, they kick, they win, they lose. And we watch, and we cheer, and we hope for the best. That’s the way it is, and that’s the way it always will be, I reckon.
