Okay, so today I decided to tackle this “unadulterated crossword” thing. I’d seen it floating around online and figured, why not? I’m not a crossword expert, usually, I just do the easy ones in the newspaper sometimes, but this one promised to be a real brain-buster.
First, I printed the darn thing out. I like to have paper in front of me, you know? Something I can scribble on. It looked pretty intimidating, just a massive grid of empty squares, no clues whatsoever inside of the grid area!
I started by reading all of the clues, and then I went back and forth to fill some easy ones to begin.
Then I started to fill more grids, and I can check the answer between the crossing words.
- The horizontal words can check answers with the vertical words.
After I filled some easy and confirmed words, the rest of them became much easier.
Finally, I finished the whole crossword. It did take a good chunk of my afternoon, but hey, I did it! It’s a good feeling, conquering a puzzle like that. My brain feels a little fried, but in a good way. Like I just ran a mental marathon or something.
