So, I got curious the other day about golf. Wasn’t watching a tournament or anything, just kinda popped into my head while I was tinkering in the garage. You know how it is, one thought leads to another, and suddenly I’m wondering, who’s actually won the most times on the PGA Tour? Like, the absolute king of the hill?

My first step, obviously, was just grabbing my phone. Didn’t even wipe the grease off my hands properly. Just typed in something like “pga tour most wins ever”. Pretty basic search, right?
The results started popping up pretty quick. The first name I saw mentioned a lot was Sam Snead. Okay, heard of him, old-timer, legend. Makes sense. But then, right alongside him, almost everywhere I looked, was Tiger Woods. Tied. Exactly the same number.
My Findings on This
I gotta admit, I scrolled a bit more, clicked on a couple of different pages that looked like they knew their stuff. Seemed weird they’d be perfectly tied at the very top. You figure one guy would have edged out the other, even by one win. But nope, looks like it’s the real deal.
So, here’s what I landed on:
- Sam Snead: 82 wins
- Tiger Woods: 82 wins
Eighty-two wins. Let that sink in. It’s kinda wild. Two guys, from totally different times in golf, hitting the exact same massive number. Snead racked his up over a super long career, starting way back. And Tiger, well, we all saw his dominance, then the comeback to tie it. Pretty amazing stuff when you stop and think about the consistency and just plain skill involved.

Then you look down the list, guys like Jack Nicklaus are next, but quite a bit behind those top two for total PGA Tour wins, even though Jack’s got the most Majors. It just shows how incredible that 82 number really is.
Anyway, that was my little dive into golf stats for the day. Just wanted to share what I found out. Crazy achievement by both Snead and Woods.
