Well, let me tell you somethin’ ’bout these LPGA gals and their money. They play golf, yeah, but they also get paid, and some get paid a whole heck of a lot more than others. It ain’t always fair, just like life, I tell ya.
This year, 2024, they’re playin’ for a whole lotta money, somethin’ like 123.75 million dollars. That’s a big number, even bigger than the prize for that giant pumpkin at the county fair last year. Most of these golf games they play, they got at least 2 million dollars up for grabs. Imagine that! Two million dollars just for hittin’ a little white ball around a big ol’ field.
Now, some of these games, they got even more money. Like, ten of ’em got 3 million or more! There’s this new one, the FM Championship, they got 4.1 million dollars. That’s more money than most folks see in their whole lives, I reckon. And that ain’t even countin’ the big ones, the majors, they call ’em, or the CME Group Tour Championship at the end of the year.
Speaking of big money, let’s talk about this Nelly Korda girl. She’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. She’s won a bunch of these golf games this year, seven of ’em to be exact! And because of that, she’s made a whole pile of money. Just from winnin’ that Annika game, she got almost half a million dollars. Can you believe it? Half a million dollars! Her total for the year is already over 4.1 million dollars. She’s gonna be richer than old Mr. Johnson down the road, and he owns half the town!
But it ain’t all sunshine and roses. Some folks are sayin’ the money ain’t spread out fair. Just like in life, some get more than others. It reminds me of that time when we had that pie eatin’ contest at the church social, that skinny little Timmy ate almost the whole thing while poor old Mrs. Higgins barely got a sliver. Same goes for this golf money, I guess. Some of these girls are makin’ millions, while others are barely scrapin’ by, just tryin’ to cover their travel and such.

It’s got somethin’ to do with how much money they win all year long.
And there’s this BMW Ladies Championship, they got 2.2 million dollars up for grabs there. That’s a nice chunk of change, I’d say. Enough to buy a new tractor and maybe even a few extra chickens.
So, that’s the lowdown on the LPGA prize money. It’s a lot of money, that’s for sure. Some get more, some get less, but they’re all out there swingin’ those clubs and tryin’ to win. It’s like that old sayin’, “you gotta be in it to win it”, and these gals, they’re definitely in it.
