Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with College Football 25, trying to figure out the best spread playbook, you know? And let me tell you, it’s been a journey.
I started off all gung-ho, thinking I could just pick any playbook and dominate. Yeah, that didn’t happen. I got crushed. So, I started digging into it. I hit up the forums, watched some videos, and tried out a bunch of different playbooks myself.
- First, I tried the Alabama playbook. It’s that whole pro-style thing. I thought, “Hey, Alabama’s good, right?” But it just wasn’t clicking for me. It felt kinda slow, and I wanted something more… explosive.
- Next up was Oregon. Now we’re talking! This is a spread playbook, and it felt way better. I could get the ball out quick, hit those receivers in stride, and it was just more fun overall. But I still felt like there might be something even better out there.
- Then I gave Clemson a shot. It’s labeled as Air Raid, which, you know, sounds cool. I could chuck the ball downfield, which was awesome when it worked, but it also led to some, uh, let’s just say “risky” throws. I turned the ball over quite a few times.
- Penn State was next on my list. It’s supposed to be “Multiple”, so I figured it would have a little bit of everything. I think I did okay, but I really wanted to focus on spread. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing out.
- I messed around with the Texas playbook for a bit too. I saw some people saying it’s the best, and there’s definitely a lot of variety in there. It’s called Multiple, but it’s got a lot of spread concepts built in. I mean, you can run, you can throw, you can do all sorts of motion stuff to confuse the defense.
My Final Verdict
After all that experimenting, I’ve kind of settled on this: If you want a true spread playbook, Oregon is a great starting point. But if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, and you want a playbook that can do it all, you should try the Multiple playbook like Texas. It’s got the spread stuff I like, but it also gives you a bunch of other options. You can adapt to whatever the defense throws at you. So, yeah, that’s where I’m at right now. Still learning, still experimenting, but definitely having a lot more success than when I started!
