Alright, so you wanna know how much that Kenny Brooks fella makes, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a whole lotta money, more than this old lady ever seen in her life, that’s for sure. They say he’s coachin’ them Kentucky Wildcat women, basketball, ya know.
From what I hear, that man’s gonna be makin’ around $1.5 million a year. A year! Can you believe that? That’s for five years, they say. Makes him one of the big shots in the SEC, the third highest paid they say. That’s a whole lotta dough. Makes me wonder what he does with all that money.

Now, they also say his whole deal is worth somethin’ like $7.7 million. That’s enough to buy a whole heap of land, I tell ya. He’s got somethin’ called a base salary too. That’s like his regular pay, you see. That’s around $400,000 a year. Still more than I ever made in my whole life slavin’ away. That’s just the start though, before they add all the other stuff.
Some of them other coaches, they make even more, like that fella from UConn, Geno somethin’ or other. And that Dawn Staley lady over at South Carolina. They’re rakin’ in over $3 million! Can you imagine? But Kenny, he’s doin’ alright for himself, bein’ the seventh highest paid coach in the whole country, they say. That’s somethin’, ain’t it?
He just started coachin’ them Wildcats in 2024, so he’s the new guy. Before that, I think he was somewhere else, Blacksburg or somethin’. Don’t really matter, I guess. Point is, he’s makin’ the big bucks now.
It ain’t just the coachin’ though, I reckon. They probably give him all sorts of fancy things, like a nice car, maybe a big house. Who knows? These rich folks, they got all sorts of ways of spendin’ money. I heard tell of another coach, Lindsay Gottlieb, she makes around a million dollars a year. She coaches that USC Trojans women’s team. She did real good last year, took them to some big game, first time in a long while.
Anyways, back to Kenny. Even if he just got that base salary of $400,000, that’s still more money than most folks ever see. And with that $1.5 million a year, he’s livin’ high on the hog, that’s for sure. Good for him, I guess. Someone’s gotta make the money, right?
I also heard they let go of another coach, Eberflus I think his name was. He was coachin’ them Bears, the football team. He was makin’ somethin’ like $4.5 million a year. But they let him go, even though he had two more years on his contract. See, that’s the thing about these high-falutin’ jobs, they can just get rid of you, even if you got a contract. Guess Kenny better watch his step, huh?
So there you have it. That’s the lowdown on how much Kenny Brooks makes, near as I can figure. A whole heck of a lot, that’s for sure. More money than this old lady can even dream of.
Now, you know as much as I do about it. It’s a crazy world, all this money they throw around. But hey, if they wanna pay him that much, that’s their business. I just hope he’s doin’ a good job for them Wildcat girls. That’s what really matters, ain’t it?
