Alright, let’s talk about this Washington NBA team thing, the one they put in them crossword puzzles. You know, the kind they print in the newspapers, the ones my grandkids sometimes mess with. I don’t get it half the time, but they seem to like it. Anyways, this “Washington NBA team,” that’s what they ask in the puzzle, right?
Well, shoot, it ain’t that hard. It’s them Wizards. Yep, the Washington Wizards. That’s the answer they want you to write in them little boxes. Don’t know why they make such a fuss about it, puttin’ it in a puzzle and all. Seems plain as day to me.

Now, I hear tell some of these puzzles are harder than others. Some are easy peasy, like on Mondays. Then they get harder and harder as the week goes on. Saturdays, they say, are the real tough ones. Lordy, I can’t imagine wrackin’ my brain over some puzzle all day. I got better things to do, like feedin’ the chickens and makin’ sure the cows don’t wander off.
But this Wizards thing? That’s easy, even for an old woman like me. You don’t need to be no fancy city slicker to know that. Heck, even my neighbor’s boy, the one who ain’t too bright, he knows the Wizards are the Washington team. It’s on the TV sometimes when he’s over. They run around, throwin’ a ball, makin’ a fuss.
I reckon some folks get confused, though. Maybe they don’t follow the basketball, or maybe they’re from out of town. They might think of other teams, I guess. But around here, everyone knows it’s the Wizards. It’s like knowin’ the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Just common sense, if you ask me.
And them crossword people, they like to make things tricky, don’t they? They’ll use fancy words and twist things around. But sometimes, the answer is starin’ you right in the face. Like this Wizards thing. Don’t overthink it, that’s what I always say. Life’s too short to be frettin’ over some puzzle.
So next time you see that “Washington NBA team” clue, don’t you go scratchin’ your head. Just write down Wizards and be done with it. Then you can move on to the next clue, somethin’ maybe a little bit harder. But I bet even them harder ones ain’t as tough as tryin’ to get a stubborn mule to move, let me tell you.
