Alright, let’s talk about these men’s PGA Tour shorts I’ve been wearing. I guess I started looking for some new shorts specifically for golfing. You know, the old cargo shorts just weren’t cutting it, felt kinda heavy and looked sloppy.

So, I went down to the local sports shop, the big one just off the highway. Spent a good while just looking through racks. Lots of brands, lots of fancy tech names for fabric. I ended up grabbing a couple of pairs of the PGA Tour brand ones. Honestly? The price seemed reasonable compared to some of the others, and they looked clean, simple.
Putting Them to the Test
First time I wore them out on the course, I immediately noticed a difference. They felt way lighter than my old shorts. The material has a bit of stretch to it, which really helps when you’re bending down to read a putt or swinging hard (or trying to, anyway). Didn’t feel restricted at all.
Here’s what I found over a few rounds:
- Comfort: Really good. The fabric breathes well, which is great on hot days. Didn’t get that sweaty, sticky feeling.
- Pockets: Decent size. Held my tees, ball marker, scorecard without feeling bulky. Stuff didn’t fall out when I sat in the cart either, which is a plus.
- Fit: Pretty true to size for me. Not too baggy, not too tight. Just a standard, comfortable fit.
- Washing: Thrown them in the wash plenty of times now. They come out looking pretty much the same. No major shrinking or fading yet.
Any Downsides?
Well, they aren’t miracle workers. My golf score didn’t suddenly drop by 10 strokes, unfortunately. And while the price was okay compared to some golf-specific brands, they’re still a bit more than your basic khaki shorts from a department store. But you’re paying for that bit of extra comfort and the golf-focused design, I guess.
Here’s a funny thing though, how I really got sold on them. It wasn’t just the golf. Last summer, my cousin dragged me along to this outdoor family reunion picnic thing. Hottest day of the year, easily. I almost wore jeans, but then I remembered those PGA Tour shorts were clean. Threw ’em on thinking, “Well, at least I’ll be comfy.”

So I’m there, sweating buckets anyway because it’s just blazing hot, chasing kids around, playing lawn games. Everyone else is complaining about being hot and sticky in their regular clothes. And yeah, I was hot too, but honestly, the shorts felt way better than I expected. They dried super quick if they got damp, didn’t cling, just stayed comfortable through the whole long, hot afternoon.
It was kinda weird, realizing these ‘golf shorts’ were just great all-around shorts for warm weather. My cousin, who was sweating through his fancy linen pants, even asked me where I got them. Never thought I’d be giving fashion advice based on golf apparel at a family picnic.
So yeah, that’s my experience. Started looking for something practical for golf, ended up finding some really solid, comfortable shorts that I actually wear for more than just hitting the links now. They just work.
