Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again, and today we’re diving into something a lot of you have been asking about – Brian Harman’s setup for 2024. Yeah, I’ve been digging around, trying stuff out, seeing what works and what doesn’t, just like always. So let’s get into it, no messing around.
Getting Started
First off, I grabbed my notebook and started jotting down everything I could find about what Harman’s been using. From what I saw, it looked like he’s pretty loyal to Titleist, almost the whole bag. So, naturally, I decided I had to try some of these clubs out for myself.
Trying Out the Driver
I hit up my local golf shop and got my hands on a Titleist TSi2 driver, the same one Harman’s been swinging. Set it up at 9 degrees, just like him. Now, I know some of you might remember he also messed around with the TSi3, but I stuck with the TSi2 for this experiment. Let me tell you, this thing is sweet. I was hitting it pretty straight and far, no complaints there. Definitely felt good in my hands, and I could see why a pro like Harman would stick with it.
Moving to the Woods
Next up, I tested out his woods. From my notes, Harman’s been using the TS2 woods, which have been around since 2020. They felt solid, and I was getting some good distance with them. I tried to get similar swings and strikes to match what I have seen Harman do. I even spent some time adjusting my posture and swing angle to compare my results. I found that it is not as easy as it looks to match a pro’s results, but I was able to get close with some adjustments.
Irons and Wedges
For the irons, I got a set of Titleist 620 CB irons. These are from 2019, but hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? I spent a good chunk of time at the range, hitting ball after ball, trying to get a feel for them. They’re definitely more precise than what I usually use, and I had to focus on my swing a lot more. But once I got the hang of it, it was pretty satisfying. For the wedges, I didn’t have specifics, but I grabbed some Titleist wedges just to keep things consistent.
The Putter Experiment
Now, the putter was interesting. I read somewhere that Harman’s been using an old-school TaylorMade Spider OS CB, a counter-balance version. It’s even older than his other clubs. I managed to borrow one from a buddy who’s a bit of a collector. It felt weird at first, with that counter-balance, but after a few putts, I started to like it. I set up a little putting green in my backyard and spent hours practicing. I can see why Harman likes it; it’s got a good feel and helps with stability.
Shoes
But the other interesting part I found was Harman’s shoes! It seems like such a small detail, but from my research, it looks like Brian Harman wears FootJoy Tour Alpha shoes. I picked up a pair of these to try out. They were super comfortable and had great support. It was cool to consider that maybe these shoes really are helping his game. I took these out for a test run when I was trying out his clubs, and I’ll say, they really hold up. Super comfortable and good for stability on the course, no matter the conditions.
Putting It All Together
After trying out all the gear individually, I decided to put it all together for a full round. It was a bit of a challenge adjusting to all the new equipment, but it was also a lot of fun. I felt like I was getting a better understanding of how a pro like Harman approaches the game. Plus, it was just cool to try out some high-end gear.
Final Thoughts
So, that’s my experience trying out Brian Harman’s 2024 setup. It was a lot of work, but I learned a ton. It’s always interesting to see how the pros do it and then try to replicate it in my own way. Hope you guys enjoyed this little experiment. Let me know in the comments what other setups you want me to try out. And as always, thanks for following along on my golfing adventures!
