Okay, so, I wanted to try something new with my look, and I decided to grow a CM Punk-style mustache. I’d seen it on him, and I thought, “Why not?” It looked pretty cool and different, so I figured I’d give it a shot.
First, I stopped shaving my upper lip. That was the easy part, just letting nature take its course. But man, that initial stubble phase was itchy! I kept resisting the urge to just shave it all off. I used some beard oil to try and soften things up, which helped a bit, but it was still a rough couple of days.
After a week or so, the itching subsided, and I could actually see some decent growth. I started to shape it a little, trimming the edges to get that signature CM Punk look. I watched a couple of videos online to get an idea of how to trim and maintain it properly. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be.
- Used a small pair of scissors to trim the hairs that were sticking out.
- Tried to keep it symmetrical, which was a real challenge.
- Messed up a few times and had to trim more than I wanted to.
I kept at it, though. Every few days, I’d trim and shape it, trying to get it just right. It took a few weeks, but I finally got it to a point where I was happy with it. It wasn’t exactly like CM Punk’s, but it was close enough, and I liked how it looked on me.
I started to get compliments on it, which was a nice bonus. My friends and family noticed, and some of them even said it suited me. That was a confidence booster, for sure.
Now, I keep it maintained by trimming it regularly and using some mustache wax to keep it in shape. It’s become a part of my look, and I’m really glad I decided to give it a try.
Final Thoughts
Growing a CM Punk mustache wasn’t as straightforward as I initially thought, but it was definitely a fun experiment. It’s a bit of a commitment, but if you’re looking for a change and you’re a fan of the look, I’d say go for it. Just be prepared for that itchy phase and some trial and error with the trimming!
