Okay, here’s my take on sharing my experience with a 2019 Topps Aaron Judge card, blog-style.

Alright folks, gather ’round! Today I wanna chat about something a little different – not my usual coding shenanigans, but a foray into the world of sports cards. Specifically, my 2019 Topps Aaron Judge card. It’s not some crazy rare rookie, but it’s got a story, ya know?
So, how did this thing even end up in my possession? Well, it all started back in, you guessed it, 2019. I was feeling nostalgic, remembering ripping packs as a kid, and decided on a whim to grab a blaster box of Topps baseball cards from Target. Just for fun, right? Didn’t expect much, just wanted that feeling again.
Ripping open those packs…man, that smell! Took me right back. Mostly commons, a few inserts I didn’t recognize, and then BAM! There it was. Aaron Judge, lookin’ all majestic in his Yankees pinstripes. It wasn’t a numbered parallel or an autograph or anything super fancy, just the base card. But I was stoked! I’m a Yankees fan, so pulling Judge felt pretty damn cool. Plus, the centering looked pretty good, which is always a bonus.
Okay, so I pulled the card. What next? Honestly, it sat on my desk for a few days. I was debating what to do with it. Did I sleeve it up and top-load it? Did I throw it in a box with all the other random cards I had accumulating? The indecision was real. I knew enough about card collecting to know that condition is key, even for a base card.
I finally decided, “Screw it, I’m gonna protect this thing.” So, I ordered some penny sleeves and top-loaders online. When they arrived, I carefully sleeved the Judge card, making sure not to bend any corners. Then, I slid it into the top-loader. Felt good. Felt…official. Like I was taking this whole card thing seriously, even though I wasn’t really.

Fast forward to today. The card is still in that top-loader, chillin’ in a box with some other cards. I haven’t gotten it graded or anything. I doubt it’s worth a fortune. But honestly? I don’t care. It’s a cool little piece of memorabilia. It reminds me of that day I decided to jump back into card collecting, even if just for a little bit. It’s a tangible reminder of a fun memory.
The Lesson? Sometimes, it’s not about the value of the thing, but the story behind it. This Aaron Judge card might not be a grail, but it’s my grail. And that’s what matters, right?

- Good Vibes: Double Check!
Maybe one day I’ll get back into the hobby full swing. But for now, this little 2019 Topps Aaron Judge card is a pretty sweet reminder of a simpler time.
