Okay, so, today I was just messing around with names, right? And I stumbled upon this one – Ashton Silva. Sounds kinda cool, doesn’t it? I mean, it’s got that vibe, you know? So I got curious. I was like, “What’s the story behind this Ashton name?”
I started digging around, just to satisfy my curiosity. I found out that Ashton is one of those names that’s been around for a while. It comes from English, apparently. Some folks said it had something to do with ash trees. It’s a surname, apparently, or at least it used to be. I also saw somewhere that it means “ash tree town.” What’s the deal with all the ash trees, anyway?

Apparently, it was a boy’s name and a girl’s name. I was surprised. But hey, why not, right? This Ashton name, it seems like it wasn’t all that popular back in the day. I saw one thing that said it was kind of rare until like, the 1980s. Then bam! Everyone started naming their kids Ashton. What happened in the 80s, I wonder?
So that’s the little adventure I had today with the name Ashton. I didn’t really do anything with this name, just did some research. Maybe I’ll name a character in a story Ashton or something.
