Yo, what’s up, everyone! It’s your boy back again with another one of my little adventures. Today, I’m gonna be talking about that Wilder vs. Zhang fight that went down recently. I made sure I was free to watch it live, so I set aside some time to catch it in real-time.
First off, I checked when the whole shebang was kicking off. Found out that the main card started at 2 p.m. ET. That’s Eastern Time for those of you not in the know. Since there were five fights on the card, I knew there’d be a good chunk of action before the big boys, Wilder and Zhang, stepped into the ring. I mean, these things are always a bit of a guessing game when it comes to the exact time the main event starts, but 2 p.m. was the general start time.
Next up, where to watch it? I learned it was gonna be on DAZN, which is a streaming service for sports. In the UK, it was also on TNT Sports, so those folks had options. I signed up for DAZN ’cause that seemed like the easiest way to catch it. It was a pay-per-view thing, so I shelled out the $69.99 to watch it live. That’s the price you gotta pay sometimes, right?
Now, about the location. This whole thing was happening at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Pretty fancy, huh? I did some digging and saw that the main event, Wilder vs. Zhang, was estimated to start around 9:30 p.m. local time in Riyadh. I had to convert that to my time zone to make sure I didn’t miss it. Time zones can be a real pain, but gotta do what you gotta do.
I also stumbled upon some info about the money these guys were making. Wilder, being the bigger name, was supposedly getting a guaranteed $8 million. Zhang was probably getting a good chunk of change too, but Wilder was definitely the main draw. It’s crazy how much money is involved in these fights, but hey, it’s big business.
So, on the day of the fight, I cleared my schedule. Got my snacks ready, made sure I was comfy, and settled in to watch. The undercard fights were pretty entertaining, which helped build up the excitement for the main event. It was a whole afternoon and evening of boxing, and I was there for every minute of it.
When it finally came time for Wilder and Zhang to walk out, the anticipation was real. The atmosphere, even through the screen, was electric. And let me tell you, the fight itself? I’ll just save the final result for my next blog and leave you guys in suspense.
That’s it for today, folks. Hope you enjoyed this little breakdown of how I prepped to watch the Wilder vs. Zhang fight. Catch you all in the next one!
