Okay, so I was messing around with my fantasy lineup, and I got stuck on this one: Zay Jones or Courtland Sutton? I figured I’d walk you through how I tackled it, ’cause maybe it’ll help someone else out there.

Digging into the Stats
First, I pulled up both players’ stats for the season so far. Just the basic stuff – targets, receptions, yards, touchdowns. Nothing fancy, just wanted to see how they were performing overall.
- Zay Jones: Seemed kinda boom-or-bust. Some big games, some total duds.
- Courtland Sutton: More consistent, I guess? Not huge numbers, but steady.
Checking the Matchups
Then, I looked at who they were playing this week. You know, are they going up against a tough defense, or is it a team that gives up a ton of points to wide receivers? That can make a big difference.
I won’t bore you with the details, but one of them definitely had a better matchup on paper. I took note of that, but I didn’t make my decision just yet.
Considering the Quarterbacks
Next up, I checked up the quarterbacks situation and try my best to guess how would my player perform. I mean, a receiver is only as good as the guy throwing him the ball, right?
Making the (Tough) Decision
So, after all that, I still wasn’t 100% sure. It was a real coin flip. But, I ended up going with Courtland Sutton, mostly, the matchup and the QB situation gave him. I figured he had a higher floor, even if his ceiling wasn’t as high as Zay Jones.

It’s fantasy football, anything can happen. But hopefully, this little process helps me (and you!) make those tough lineup decisions a little bit easier.
